About
Alex Cooley
Alex Cooley has been the co-founder and operator of several cannabis companies over the past decade, most notably Solstice, Washington’s first cannabis brand. In the years he has had cannabis as a career, he has excelled at government relations, business development, cultivation, and product expertise. He has had the opportunity to serve as president and board member to several prestigious organizations such as The Cannabis Alliance and The National Cannabis Industry Association. In recent years, Alex has put focus into criminal justice reform and education through his work as an expert witness and collegiate lecturer.
How It Came To Be
In 2016, Alex was contacted by a Kentucky lawyer who was defending a person that was charged with commercial marijuana cultivation, drug trafficking, and manufacturing of a controlled substance. Alex was asked to help protect against what was one of the many examples of prosecutor overreach in the war on drugs. With a written deposition the defendant went from facing 20 years in prison to all charges dismissed. It was with that experience as an expert witness Alex decided to offer these services to all people who could benefit from them and Cooley Holdings was born.
Why It Continues
After Alex's first experience as an expert witness many more have followed and the enjoyment for the experience has only increased. Over the years Alex has expanded his expert services to include consulting in cannabis production, processing, retail, lab testing, policy, law, tax code, equipment manufacturing, and investment.
He continues to focus his work on interesting and exciting projects, committed to creating satisfied clients.
